The former Premier – who appeared outside her office which was flooded with gifts, flowers and handwritten cards – said she was doing “okay” and the messages of support are “very comforting”.
The sighting marked her first public appearance since Friday’s teary resignation, which followed a statement from the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) confirming a probe into whether Ms Berejiklian breached public trust.
“I want everyone to know that I will read every single card, every single message,” Ms Berejiklian said on Wednesday.

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone, and I want everyone to get behind Premier Perrottet, I know he will be an outstanding leader.
“Follow the Premier’s words and make sure we come out of lockdown as safely as possible.”
Ms Berejiklian’s supporters left messages for the former Premier outside her office, with one resident telling Sky News Australia she was “devastated” by the resignation.
“(It) makes me want to cry,” she said.
“She’s led us through a really difficult time, we’re in a global pandemic and she led us with strength and integrity and I’m devastated that she’s gone.”
Another resident said Ms Berejiklian was the “the best Premier we’ve ever had; gone through floods, fires and COVID”.

The ICAC is currently investigating whether Ms Berejiklian breached public trust by “exercising public functions in circumstances where she was in a position of conflict between her public duties and her private interest”.
In a tearful announcement on Friday, Ms Berejiklian said her resignation “could not come at a worse time” and was “against every instinct in my being and something which I do not want to do”.
“I love my job, and serving the community, but I have been given no option.”
