Star Trek actor William Shatner will become the oldest person to ever go into space.

The 90-year-old is to boldly go where no man has gone before, at least of his age, when he joins Blue Origin’s crew onboard their spacecraft next Tuesday.

Mr Shatner is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, often credited by astronauts for sparking their love for space.

Blue Origin launched its billionaire owner Jeff Bezos into space in July along with 82-year-old aviator Wally Funk, currently the oldest person to have entered space.
