Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the renewable energy sector are “snake oil salesmen” who have been “successful so far” – which is a “recipe for disaster”.
“You can hardly blame these renewable energy snake oil salesmen because they’ve been successful so far, this is their business model,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Most other businesses, before the renewables age, would develop a better product, market the advantages of that product and have consumers come and buy them.
“The renewables industry – they have gotten large, they have gotten big, they have put solar panels on people’s roofs all through getting subsidies.
“We have a situation here in the renewables sector where other people are spending your money on other people, and that is always a recipe for disaster.”
