Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says independent MP Zali Steggall has experienced “two significant failures” while holding the seat of Warringah.
“One is … that member has voted 64 per cent of the time with Labor despite that seat having a very, very low Labor vote,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Mr Bragg said her second failure was she “spent all her time” talking about a climate bill “which was never going to make any change to federal policy”.
“I mean the only person that can sign Australia up to a policy like net-zero is the prime minister,” he said.
“I think Australia will get to net zero, but I think it will get there without any sort of stands from activists like Ms Steggall.”
