Outgoing NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro says his energy for politics is gone and he is ready for the next chapter in his life.
Mr Barilaro announced his resignation on Monday, telling Sky News host Peta Credlin online “attacks” were a “big part of the reason” for his exit.
“I am tough, but it’s worn me down,” he said.
“I think the time has come for me to hand over, because I am tired.
“I’ve got to be honest about that, the energy is gone.”
