Shadow Communications Minister Michelle Rowland says it is “very important” at this time for residents and businesses of New South Wales to have “stability” and focus from the state government.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro officially resigned from his role on Monday.

It follows the shock exit of Premier Gladys Berejiklian last Friday amid an investigation launched by ICAC.

“This is a time when the state needs stability, when residents and small businesses need to be assured that as we come out of lockdown, they’ve got a government that’s focused on them at a state and federal level,” Ms Rowland told Sky News Australia.
