NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant says the state has recorded 10 coronavirus-related deaths.

There were two people in their 50s who passed away, four in their 60s, two in their 70s and two in their 80s.

“Four of the people were not vaccinated, four had received one dose and two had received the two doses of the COVID vaccine, and the two people who had received the two doses of the COVID vaccine both acquired their infections in aged care facilities,” she said.

“This highlights the fact that … even if we’re doubly vaccinated, the elderly still will remain vulnerable, given their age, and it is important that we take those steps to protect elderly.”
