Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen says Australia needs a “roadmap” to net zero emission by 2050, which should be “clearly legislated”.

“We are not seeing a commitment to net zero by 2050, Scott Morrison and Barnaby Joyce, and even Josh Frydenberg have admitted that today,” Mr Bowen told Sky News Australia.

“We need a commitment to net zero by 2050, clearly legislated and a strong roadmap to get there and anything else is just talk.

“This is just eight years of wasted opportunities and some last minute catch up, weeks from Glasgow, is not going to cut the mustard.”
