The fully vaccinated will emerge from lockdown on the first Monday after the state reaches 70 per cent double-vaccination coverage, as per the NSW government’s roadmap to freedom.
The Berejiklian government originally predicted the milestone would be reached towards the end of October, allowing businesses to reopen to the double-dosed on Monday October 25.
But with high vaccinated rates, the predicted reopening date was pushed forward to October 18 and then again to October 11, The Australian reported.

Health authorities suspect the vaccination target will be reached near October 7.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian told the daily COVID-19 update on Wednesday the state has now administered at least one dose of a vaccine to 83 per cent of the eligible population and 54.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.
It is unlikely the state government’s “vaccine passport” will be ready on the reopening date.
Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello, who attended the press conference along with the Premier, said the updated Service NSW app, showing vaccination status, would be trialed in regional NSW from October 6.

The closed pilots will involve between 100 and 500 residents.
“Following the pilots, we are working towards a state-wide rollout as NSW starts to reopen in October with the 70 per cent double-dosed,” he wrote on Twitter.
He also posted a selfie of him smiling while displaying the app to the camera.
The screen showed the vaccinated status of resident “Steve Citizen” with a green bubble declaring him to be “vaccinated”.
“Overwhelmingly businesses want this (vaccine passport) in the Service NSW app because it makes it simple for them … so we are moving heaven and earth to get that ready,” he told the press conference.
New South Wales residents are able to prove their vaccination status through Medicare.
