New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard says the state has recorded 1,063 new local COVID-19 cases to 8pm last night.

Mr Hazzard said the community in southwestern and Western Sydney were “doing a very, very good job” getting vaccinated and following the stay-at-home orders.

He said there were 220 cases in Western Sydney, down from 444 cases from September 11.
