The date for New South Wales businesses to reopen being as early as just three weeks away will provide a “sense of real relief”, according to Shadow Industrial Relations Minister Tony Burke.

“We’ve been doing everything we can to boost the vaccination rate and to get it moving through the local community,” he told Sky News Australia.

Mr Burke said there was a sense of frustration about how long the lockdown had gone on and whether it could have been avoided.

“To get to the end of it will just be a sense of real relief,” he said.
