British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reopened the war of words with Paris over the AUKUS defence deal.

He was asked about France’s angry reaction to the new trilateral security agreement between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

In his response Boris dabbled into his French vocabulary to tell his friends across the Channel to ‘get a grip’.

Mr Johnson said the French should “donnez-moi un break” and “prenez un grip” over the AUKUS security pact.
