Premier Gladys Berejiklian told the daily COVID-19 update on Wednesday the state has now administered at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine to 83 per cent of the eligible population and 54.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.
“More than nine million jabs have been given in New South Wales and I couldn’t feel prouder of the way in which the community has responded,” she said.
“The New South Wales Government is well on the way to producing additional work as we inch towards the 70 per cent double dose and 80 per cent double dose vaccination to get all of us ready for what it means when we hit those targets.”

The five deaths include two people in their 50s, one in their 60s, one in their 70s and one in their 80s.
One person was from the Wollongong area, one was from the Kiama area, two were from south western Sydney and one was from western Sydney.
Of the five fatalities, two were not vaccinated against coronavirus, two had received one dose of a and a woman in her 80s with underlying health conditions was fully vaccinated.
A woman in her 50s from western Sydney died at home. Her infection was diagnosed following her death.
