Sky News host Paul Murray says the unemployment figures for the month of August have revealed one in four Australian adults now rely entirely on income support.
“It’s a good thing that we have a social safety net and a social safety net that worked last year with JobKeeper and works now with JobSaver in 2021,” Mr Murray said.
“But this is the rubber hitting the road. I know I start with a laugh but this is not funny in any way, shape or form.”
In New South Wales 37,000 lost their jobs in the month of August and in Victoria 166,000 people worked zero hours.
