Henry Jackson Society’s Dr Rakib Ehsan says survey data appears to contradict the narrative pushed by some on the Left which suggests British society is “aggressively Islamophobic”.
“For example, more than three in four British Muslims believes that Britain is a good place to live as a Muslim and one of the main reasons cited for that is freedom of religion,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“When you look at previous survey data British Muslims are traditionally more satisfied with the way British democracy works compared to the general population.
“And British Muslims, when compared to the general population, are more likely to think that the police engages well with their local community.
“So, when you look at this survey data it doesn’t look like a very downtrodden, disaffected and oppressed group to me.”
