Sky News host Laura Jayes says the Australia-US alliance is in “super sharp focus today”.
It comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a landmark deal with the US and UK for Australia’s submarines to go nuclear.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also stated he was “delighted” the UK, the US and Australia would be working in a trilateral partnership – known as AUKUS – to strengthen stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Ms Jayes spoke to Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen about the latest events.
“This is also going to have global ramifications because this is going to upset much of the order within the Indo-Pacific region as it stands,” Ms Nielsen said.
