CLP Senate candidate Jacinta Price says there is a “trend” in regard to racism and what is “perceived as racist”.
It comes as former Adelaide Crows captain Tex Walker has become embroiled in an AFL racism scandal.
“I think there’s trend that is happening at the moment with regard to racism and what’s perceived to be racist and those sorts of things,” Ms Price told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“And I think that he expressed that he is extremely remorseful for what he’s done and what he said.
“I think it’s a little bit extreme in terms of the punishment he’s received as a result.
“Sometimes I think there’s a witch hunt that people like to jump on the bandwagon of. “
