NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the federal government is “really keen” for the state to open international travel upon reaching the 80 per cent vaccination threshold.
“And we’re keen to have it happen,” Ms Berejiklian told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“I’d love to see thousands of Australians coming home if they’re double vaccinated with a vaccine the authorities regard as a good vaccine.
“I’m very confident that at 80 per cent double dose, we can start thinking about returning Australians but also about going overseas ourselves.
“It’s just about adjusting to life where we’re living with COVID, instead of pretending we can keep it out or that we’re different from everywhere else on the planet.”
