New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced the curfew is set to be lifted for Sydney’s 12 local government areas of concern from tonight.
On Wednesday, Ms Berejiklian said the state had hit the 80 per cent first dose vaccination milestone.
“An incredible milestone given the journey we’ve all been on,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“In terms of double dose, we’re up to 47.5 per cent of our adult population being completely vaccinated.”
Ms Berejiklian said after receiving advice from Health and police, the ruling to lift the 9pm to 5am curfew for those 12 LGAs of concern could be made.
“Given we’ve hit the 80 per cent milestone across the state, we’re able to lift the curfew in those areas of concern from tonight.
“Please make sure that if you do live in those local government areas of concern that you’ll stick to every other rule that’s in place.”
