The Biden administration has been accused of cutting off President Joe Biden’s microphone during speaking opportunities whenever he might be going off topic from what his staff would like him to say.

The Biden administration has resolutely declared this does not happen.

It comes amid day two of a hearing before US Congress into the Biden administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Republican Senator Jim Risch grilled Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the matter.

“It’s been widely reported that somebody has the ability to push the button and cut off his sound and stop him from speaking – who is that person?,” he said.

Mr Blinken replied “there is no such person” and that the president “speaks for himself”– making all the strategic decisions.
