The New South Wales limousine driver who sparked the original Bondi delta outbreak has been fined for breaching the public health order.

Michael Podgoetsky was issued with a $500 penalty infringement notice for not wearing a mask while waiting for a bus in Sydney’s east.

The 63-year-old has been described as the ‘index case’ in the outbreak – which has claimed the lives of 96 people.

He’s believed to have caught the virus while driving international aircrews to and from Sydney Airport in June.
