News Corp Columnist Louise Roberts says some of the ‘fun policing’ taking place during lockdown has been “absolutely over the top”.
“I mean, I don’t know where someone has equated misery with beating the pandemic or dealing with COVID,” she told Sky News Australia.
“Clearly, we need some joy in our life, we need some kind of approach, where we’re not completely imprisoned by these sorts of terrible emotions.”
Ms Roberts gave an example of someone playing some “lovely” piano music to people lining up for their vaccinations which, was stopped because “we can’t have too much fun and too much relaxation”.
“Some of the conversations around people outside enjoying the sunshine have been some quite bitter trolling, it does not help.”
