Council of Small Business Organisations Acting CEO Alexi Boyd says Australians “really care” about the role small businesses play in their communities.

Opinion polling in The Australian newspaper on Tuesday showed Australians are more worried about what the COVID-19 pandemic is doing to their business and economic prospects than actually catching the disease.

Ms Boyd spoke of a “fear that if we lose small businesses from our local street shops or our local shopping village, it’s going to essentially change the look and feel and the way that the community works.”

“It’s a really important part of the communities in which we exist.

“Clearly, that’s what communities care about.”
