Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says ‘you cannot trust the Labor Party’ after the party makes a bid to make public the recipients of the JobKeeper scheme.
Labor has pushed for large companies that received the JobKeeper payment to be identified, in an attempt to expose misuse in the $90 billion scheme.
Mr Frydenberg said the Labor Party wanted to “make lawbreakers out of businesses that received JobKeeper”, noting that when “businesses received JobKeeper they did so in accordance with the law”.
My Frydenberg claimed the program saved over 700,000 jobs, and has been a “key part” of Australia’s economic recovery.
Several industry groups have condemned Labor’s move, including the Australian Hotels Association, Australian Industry Group, Australian Chamber of Commerce and COSBOA.
