Liberal MP Tim Wilson says if states like Western Australia want to go rogue “it’s their choice” but they are just delaying the inevitable.
Premier Mark McGowan said on Sunday he did not want to risk reopening Western Australia to Victoria and NSW once it hit 70 per cent vaccinations in the eligible population.
“If the other states want to go rogue, that’s their choice,” Mr Wilson told Sky News Australia.
“But they also need to be honest with their populations. In human history, we’ve only ever defeated one strain of one virus. So they are buying themselves time but eventually reality will hit.
“The decisions they are making at this present time lead them to ultimately give the false pretense of being able to protect their populations.
“They’re only delaying, tragically, the inevitable.”
