There’s been a surge of new COVID cases in New Zealand’s most populous city as 53 new community cases were recorded in the past 24 hours in Auckland.
That brings the total number of cases in New Zealand’s recent Delta cluster to 562.
No new cases were recorded outside of the city.
37 New Zealanders are being treated in hospital with five in ICU.
