Victoria’s sixth lockdown is set to be extended by at least one week amid a continued increase in COVID cases.

64 cases were recorded yesterday, 15 are yet to be linked while 25 had been infectious in the community.

There are concerns of rapid transmission as the reproduction rate is above one.

Anyone with symptoms in Melbourne’s southwest has been told to get tested after fragments of the virus were found between Mordialloc and Seaford.
