Papua New Guinea is set to make its debut at an international cricket world cup and the team, known as the Barramundis, could also face Australia at some point.

Papua New Guinea bagged its ticket to the world cup at the T20 World Cup qualifier in 2019 but COVID-19 has complicated the country’s journey to the finals.

What was set to be an Australian-based T20 in 2020 became based in India in 2021 and now has been moved to the Middle East.

The Barramundis have not met in person since the qualifier and are due to meet up on Sunday, also meeting their coach for the first time.
