New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard says the state has recorded 1,035 new cases of COVID-19, which is the highest in the outbreak.

Mr Hazzard said yesterday saw the “biggest number of vaccinations” with 61,778 people receiving an inoculation in state hubs and 94,387 at GPs and pharmacists for a total of 156,165 jabs administered.

Mr Hazzard said vaccination was a “critical path out of our current situation” and urged residents to get the shot as soon as they could.

Mr Hazzard also said two more people had lost their lives to the virus, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 80s.
