Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley says the stat4e has recorded 79 new locally acquired infections of COVID-19.
“There were 79 cases reported in Victoria, 63 are linked to known outbreaks, 26 cases and their acquisition source is still under investigation,” he said.
Mr Foley said the outbreak now had 660 active cases with 656 community transmissions and four from hotel quarantine.
Mr Foley also said Victoria had “another strong day” for vaccinations as 33,611 were administered through state-run clinics.
“We would urge people to continue to come forward and to continue to be patient and to be generous to the hardworking state vaccination clinic teams,” he said.
“More appointments open up each week as we can be guaranteed supply and we will get through the system as quickly as we possibly can to get to you.”
