The NSW government’s “conservative ruling” in returning students to classrooms in late October will subjects kids to another two months of home-schooling which is “notoriously bad for children”, says Sky News host Chris Smith.
“What I find odd about this plan, and what will provide no solace to parents who don’t want their children to fall through the cracks during this pandemic, is how late they’re getting them back to school,” he said.
“It’s a very conservative ruling … but it forces kids to be home-schooled for at least another two months.
“And as most parents and educators know, the level of education our children are getting right now, is in most cases, woeful.
“Home schooling by non-teachers is notoriously bad for children.”
