Sky News host Peta Credlin says a new government COVID vaccination guide which refers to pregnant women as ‘pregnant people’ is another example of a practice which seeks to “erase” women from official documents and elsewhere.
“Who would have thought that the long-struggle against sex discrimination would end up cancelling women,” Ms Credlin said.
“Now I don’t suppose for a second that federal Health Minister Greg Hunt actually approved this document; in fact, it’s my experience of these things, it would have been done by some junior official well down the pecking order.
“But the fact that it’s happened, and so far hasn’t been reversed, is an indictment on the Coalition Government more generally.
“I mean what sort of conservative government is this?
“The Prime Minister needs to issue an edict to the heads of his departments and his ministers that this practice of erasing women from official documents and elsewhere, is wrong, should never have been done and should now and will be undone.”
